« Let's Start with the Challenges »
Artists need access to affordable spaces for live events
There are a lot of Artists in the world– musicians, comedians, authors, chefs, athletes, designers, actors, podcasters– the list goes on and on. Some Artists perform, some give lectures, some offer workshops. But, despite their artistic differences, many of these Artists share similar struggles.
- How do I make a sustainable living from my craft?
- How do I grow my fanbase?
- How do I get in front of my fans?
These Artists have a devoted, global Fanbase in the thousands and sometimes tens of thousands– an attentive and adoring fanbase who is eager to see them in a live setting.
- I want to see my favorite Artists in person.
- I want to attend exclusive events.
- I want to connect with like-minded fans.
Businesses need more customer awareness and foot traffic in order to increase their margins.
There are many different kinds of small brick and mortar businesses around the globe– breweries, book stores, cafes, churches, restaurants. They too face similar struggles with one another.
- How do I best promote my business?
- How do I get more customers through the door?
- How do I sell more of my product or service?
« THE OPPORTUNITY »
What if you could create a mutually beneficial, symbiotic relationship between Artists & Businesses?
What if Artists could easily reach out to businesses and set up live events in their store?
What if brick and mortar businesses could simultaneously increase brand awareness, foot traffic, and sales all while supporting Artists?
« Welcome to Threshold »
Threshold is a free online platform that simplifies the process of setting up events in non-traditional spaces– what we call ‘Threshows.’
Artists can browse a density map to see where their fans and potential Hosts are located all around the globe
Use filters to find the venue that best fits their needs
View photos of the Host, venue, and any unique features
Message the Host to work out details for an event
Save their favorite Hosts for future consideration
Communicate with the Fans and the Host before and after an event
Track sales and revenue for their events
« What are Threshows Like? »
Threshows are stripped-down, intimate events that typically last 1 to 1.5 hours and have 30-50 attendees depending on the venue’s capacity. Artists will often perform unplugged or bring their own sound equipment. Each Threshow feels intimate and unique which is why they're loved by Artists, Hosts, and Fans alike.
« Benefits for Businesses »
Whether your business is brand new or has been around for decades, every company can use a bit more customer awareness. By hosting Threshows, you instantly garner name and brand recognition with potential customers. And here’s the best part– it’s free.
With so many people shopping online these days it’s becoming more and more difficult for brick and mortar shops to get people through their doors. When you host an event you’ll not only increase foot traffic, people will connect with your business through a whole new lens.
Obviously, when you’re running a business, numbers matter. One of the greatest benefits to businesses who host is the ability to boost the number that matters most–sales. Whether you sell products or services, expertise or experiences– more eyes and more feet means more opportunities to sell.
Good Neighbor Vibes
We believe small businesses play an essential role in creating vibrant and flourishing communities. By opening their doors to Artists and their fans, businesses have the unique opportunity to use their space in fresh, new ways– supporting the arts while strengthening bonds in the neighborhood.

3. That's it!

« FAQs »
Q: How much will it cost me?
A: Zilch, nada, nothin. Threshold is free to use. We make our revenue from ticket sales which are shared with the Artist.
Q: What do I get in return for hosting?
A: In addition to increased customer awareness, foot traffic, social impact, and sales potential, you’ll receive 5 free tickets to the event– one for yourself and four others you can give away or sell.
Q: Do I have to collect any money at the door and/or pay Artists?
A: Nope, we collect and distribute all the funds electronically through our platform so you can kick back and enjoy the show.
Q: How will I know who’s coming?
A: You’ll be able to see the name and profile pic of every ticket holder so you can easily see who’s coming. In addition, you’ll be able to message the Artist and attendees directly inside the app.
Q: Who will be able to see my business on Threshold?
A: Unless you have an active Threshow, your venue will only appear to Artists. Once you have an active event, your venue and profile information will be visible to ticket purchasers.
Q: Can I control which Artists can reach out to me?
A: Absolutely. You can choose to have your venue appear on every Artist’s map or only the Artists you follow. We recommend making your business searchable by every Artist so you can increase your opportunities to host but it’s totally up to you.
Q: Do I have to provide a sound system or anything else?
A: No, Artists are required to bring whatever they need for their events. If you have any unique features (e.g. a PA or piano) you can make them known on your venue description.
Q: What if I have noise restrictions?
A: No problemo, if you have any sort of restrictions (e.g. noise levels, seating, parking, etc) you can make them known on your venue rules.
Q: Where can I learn more about hosting on Threshold.co?
A: You can learn more on our help page, watch some video tutorials, or email us. We're always eager to lend a hand or listen to a good joke.
